The Barton Institute is delighted to announce the selection of the 2019-20 class of the CiviCO Social Enterprise Fellows. Selected through an exceptionally competitive process, the 12 fellows represent eight different DU graduate programs. They will be taking part in a nine-month program to learn about and work with social enterprises in Metro Denver.
Another distinguishing factor about this year’s class is that they represent seven different countries of birth: Afghanistan, Bahrain, Malawi, Nepal, Nigeria, Russia, and the U.S. “We didn’t seek out international students,” says Rebecca Arno, Director of the Barton Institute. “But we are excited to see what this incredibly diverse group of young leaders will accomplish in their time together.”
The fellows will begin their work in late summer. At that time, proposals from social enterprises will be solicited. The fellows will then select the social enterprises where they will work during the next academic year.
